At PPP we are paint protection and correction professionals first. We are detailers that enjoy nothing more than giving someone the amazing feeling of seeing their vehicle completely clean, shiny, refreshed, and new. However, occasionally the vehicles we receive have been neglected for too long for us to completely restore everything. That usually means that something like tree sap or a bird dropping was sitting on the unprotected painted surface for long enough to eat through the clear coat itself. Once this happens there’s nothing that we as detailers can do because the paint itself is gone. The owner will have to decide between living with the damage or getting the affected panel repainted at a body shop. Repainting is never ideal because there are risks of overspray, paint not quite matching, possible Carfax reports, and resale value issues.
